Our Optical Cover helps your employees and their insured dependants maintain good eye health.
We pay towards the cost of regular eye examinations, as well as help towards the cost of frames, lenses and contact lenses.

Optical cover can be funded by:
- Employers
- Employees
- Both employers and employees (i.e. the employer funds a basic level of cover and employees can opt to upgrade).
Employees can also opt to add partners and/or children to their policy at an additional cost.
Why Optical cover?
Going for an eye test is far more than just checking if employees need glasses or a change of prescription — it’s also an important health check. Opticians can spot general health problems as well as eye conditions during the exam.
Moreover, employees who use computers may be at risk of computer eye strain, which can cause:
- Eye discomfort
- Headaches
- Sore, tired, burning or itchy eyes
- Difficulty focusing
- Blurred/double vision.
Our plans help cover the cost of these vital, regular examinations, plus pay towards any eyewear needed as a result.
Our policy can suit all company sizes and budgets and, if bought alongside a Unum Dental plan, we offer you a 10% multi-product discount.
* A 10% discount for employers who take Optical and Dental cover together, both for new and existing customers. Premiums will be reviewed upon the policy renewal date.
