Employee using wellbeing score via Help@hand app from Unum

An all-round approach from Help@hand’s 360 Wellbeing Assessments

Our wellbeing is a work in progress. One day we’re up, the next down — ‘riding high in April, shot down in May’ as the old song would have it. And the reasons for the changes can be many and varied: illness or injury, the boiler blowing up, feeling isolated or simply a bad day for no apparent reason. Maintaining this is a juggling act as we balance the four pillars of health and wellbeing:

  • physical
  • mental
  • financial
  • social health.

All these areas can impact our health and wellbeing every day. Maintaining our physical health can help improve our immune system, boost our energy levels and increase our confidence, helping our mental health in turn.

Meanwhile, a dip in our financial wellbeing could rob us of the access to what we need to maintain our physical health, or even the means to socialise and boost our social wellbeing. So if you think of these four pillars as the foundations of your wellbeing, it’s easy to see that if one’s out of kilter, you could soon be on rocky ground.

Settling the scores

Knowing where you stand on each of the pillars is key to managing your whole wellbeing. Yet like anything, it can be difficult to manage something that you aren’t measuring. That’s why Help@hand’s* 360 Wellbeing Score is a valuable tool to get you into the groove.

The award-winning app is available at no additional cost to every Unum Group Income Protection, Group Life and Group Critical Illness customer. The built-in Wellbeing Score is designed to help monitor, maintain or improve your wellbeing by offering four short assessments, each evaluating one of the key pillars.

Your 360 Wellbeing Score is the complete view of how you’re managing your combined physical, mental, social and financial wellbeing. Once the scores are in it’s simple to see the areas in which you’re winning on wellbeing and those where you might need to make some changes. Here, Help@hand lives up to its name, with clear signposting to resources to support you as you make those changes.

While getting that total view of your wellbeing is most useful, even completing just one of the assessments is a valuable exercise. This is because you’ll unlock access to lifestyle coaching sessions.

Struggling to motivate yourself to make changes and move forwards in your wellbeing journey? Our qualified lifestyle coaches are ready to set goals, support and cheerlead you all the way.

Just the start of the journey

Taking the 360 Wellbeing Assessments isn’t a ‘once and done’ exercise. You can use your scores as a means of tracking your progress over time, retaking them as many times as you like as you walk the path to wellbeing. Each test only takes around 5 minutes to complete, so it’s a small investment which could make a big difference to you throughout 2024.
