Unum UK appoints John Hyde as Chief Marketing Officer

Unum UK has appointed John Hyde to the role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) as the employee benefits provider strengthens its leadership team to meet its growth ambitions.

John joins Unum’s Executive Committee from Hastings Direct where he had been the Head of Growth Products.

The highly experienced director spent 9 years at Legal & General, most recently as their Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, focussed on growing and promoting the company’s protection products and services.

He has also previously held senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, HomeServe and BGL Group.

With over 20 years’ experience across multiple sectors, John is seen as a significant appointment for Unum given his specialisms in marketing strategy, customer experience, and proposition development.

Unum CEO, Mark Till, has publicly outlined his plans for driving growth within the business — and John Hyde’s leadership and industry experience is viewed as lending itself to driving this strategic direction.
