Unum’s award-winning Help@hand app hits 100,000 downloads

London, 19th August: Unum UK’s award-winning health and wellbeing app, Help@hand, recorded a new milestone hitting 100,000 downloads on iOS and Android devices. 

Help@hand¹ is an easy-to-use app that provides employees with fast, direct access to 6 key support services. Downloads surged at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and Unum’s latest figures show downloads hit a monthly record high of more than 7,000 in June 2022, highlighting the continued demand for digitalisation in the health and wellbeing space. 

Customer feedback on Help@hand illustrates the positive response to remote healthcare services, with users rating the service an average of 9 out of 10, in terms of overall satisfaction.

Help@hand is available to all of Unum’s Income Protection, Life and Critical Illness customers, with employees and eligible family members benefitting from:

  1. Unlimited remote GP appointments: Access UK-based GPs 24/7, 365 days a year
  2. Mental health support: Personalised mental health treatment via video or face-to-face consultation
  3. Physiotherapy: Direct access to physiotherapists with personalised treatment plans 
  4. Medical second opinions: Appointments either in person or via video consultation with leading UK-based private consultants
  5. An integrated Employee Assistance Programme: Tailored to provide life, money and wellbeing support
  6. Wellbeing Calendar: Content and direct sign ups to regular events, such as webinars and podcasts covering lifestyle, physical, emotional and financial topics.  

Eligible employers also have access to the Help@hand Market Insights² dashboard. Managers can identify key workforce trends such as utilisation by health issue, number of sessions used, gender, age, and time of appointment, giving businesses the insight to adapt their wellbeing strategies, services and resources in the best interests of their employees.
