Stress and mental ill-health are among the biggest causes of both short and long-term absence1.
The CIPD’s Health and Wellbeing at Work report found that almost 40% of businesses said that stress-related absence had increased in the last year, while more than a fifth (22%) revealed that mental ill-health was now the main cause of long-term absence2.
