    COVID-19 - Mental health and wellbeing plan

    As we all adapt to the fast-evolving changes following the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there’s more pressure than ever on providing effective and appropriate wellbeing to our staff. To support you, we have remodelled our Mental Health and Wellbeing Plan to take the current working climate into consideration.

    Creating healthy, inclusive, proactive workplaces where employees feel safe and secure, while acknowledging the impact the recent pandemic has had on mental health, resilience and wellbeing is critical at this time. The UK was already facing, and will continue to face, significant mental health challenges at work. But employers are able to have a positive impact on mental health by creating a supportive workplace culture – one that’s free from stigma.

    The vision from the government’s 2017 Thriving at Work Report stated:

    All organisations, whatever their size will:

    • Be equipped with the awareness and tools to not only address, but prevent mental ill health caused or worsened by work
    • Be equipped to support individuals with a mental health condition to thrive – from recruitment and throughout the organisation
    • Be aware of how to get access to timely help to reduce sickness absence caused by mental ill health

    We can work with you to understand and review your current mental health and wellbeing initiatives, and cross-reference these against Thriving at Work’s six core mental health standards and the enhanced standard for larger organisations.

    Now, more than ever, these areas are vital. We can support you to implement a mental health at work plan, develop mental health awareness, encourage conversations about mental health, improve working conditions and monitor employee mental health and wellbeing.

    What is involved:

    Completion of a mental health and wellbeing employer questionnaire

    • Completion of a mental health and wellbeing employer questionnaire
    • Two-hour video/tele-consultation with a Vocational Rehabilitation & Wellbeing Consultant 
    • A comprehensive mental health and wellbeing report with a proposed plan
    • Follow-up consultations to review progress 
    • Providing important hints and tips, and useful information for line managers, HR and staff to adapt wellbeing through these challenging times
