If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, Unum partners with Reframe, an award-winning cancer support service with a holistic approach to your cancer care, to offer all the guidance you need, whenever you need it.

Every employee covered by a Unum Group Critical Illness policy gets access to Reframe and their dedicated cancer support.1

So, no matter what, you’re equipped with all the knowledge and support you need. Offering a helping hand through this difficult time, Reframe provides wraparound support designed to make you feel in control of your journey and help you gain the best possible outcome.

Practical support, so you don’t have to worry about the everyday

Reframe can arrange, find and facilitate a huge spectrum of support services, such as a local wig maker, a specialist bra fitter or a public toilet key fob.

They’re also there to offer an extra pair of hands with the little things, when everything gets too much. If you need help with anything from arranging transport or accommodation for your hospital appointments,2 organising a cleaner, finding local exercise classes or booking an accessible taxi, Reframe has you covered.

Dedicated case manager

You’ll have one main contact: Your highly experienced case manager. This makes it easy to pick up where you left off each time you contact them, keeping you at the heart of your journey.

Reframe’s team are also trained Mental Health First Aiders who are always available with a friendly ear, whether you need reassurance or help processing the emotional toll your diagnosis may have on you and your family.

Care backed by experts

Your case manager is supported by a Reframe Cancer Nurse Specialist, both of whom have easy access to trusted clinicians and wellbeing specialists.

You can even have a Reframe nurse sit in on appointments with your consultant — over the phone or in person, if the appointment is held within 1 hour of London — for someone to explain medical jargon, ensure you never miss a thing and discuss what happens next.

A second clinical opinion

Reframe arranges and pays for a consultant of your choice to review your diagnosis and treatment plan,3 including a pathology and medical records review, so you can be sure everything has been covered.

    Reaching out to Reframe

    Reframe gathers an understanding of your immediate concerns and identify any initial support or information you need. A client navigator will guide you on the right path and through our sign-up process.

    Getting to know you

    Meet your case manager, who’ll be on hand throughout your journey to ensure you remain heart of your cancer pathway.

  3. 3

    Supporting you on your journey

    Let Reframe take over co-ordinating everything around you and connecting you to experts and services as and when you need them.

More about Reframe

1 Reframe’s service is not claim dependent; it is available to employees covered by a Unum Group Critical Illness policy at any time. 
2 Reframe can arrange travel and accommodation for hospital appointments but this will need to be funded by the individual. Neither Reframe nor Unum pay for accommodation or transport services. 
3 The Unum Cancer Support Service provides one second opinion per user. It does not cover the cost of any treatment or expenses incurred whilst attending appointments, such as travel costs. Access to additional second opinions is available, but the cost would not be covered by Unum or Reframe and would need to be funded by the individual. In-person consultation support is limited to a maximum of 3 hours, within 1 hour’s travel from London. 

Access to Reframe is facilitated by Unum at no cost to the Unum customer. Unum is not the provider of the service but can withdraw or change the service at any time. The service is entirely separate from any insurance policy provided by Unum and is subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant third-party specialist. There is no additional cost or increase in premium as a result of Unum making this benefit available.
