Unum adds AgeingWorks™ to its group risk offering to help older workers
Financial protection insurer Unum is adding AgeingWorks™ to the services available to its group risk customers – helping employees cope with the increasing demands of looking after ageing family members as they continue to work longer than ever before. The online portal for elder care support and guidance will be available to over 150,000 employees of Unum’s income protection, critical illness and life cover customers.
The move looks to help employees who are juggling the pressures of career, family, friends and health, with recent research showing that 32% of British workers are exhausted by these issues – dramatically increasing the chances of valued, experienced employees leaving their job.
AgeingWorks™, provided by The Positive Ageing Company, is designed to help employees recognise the signs of problems associated with advancing age, prepare for the care of their loved ones as their needs develop over time and engage family members in informed decision making.
Employers wishing to offer AgeingWorks™ to their staff will also have access to Sleeping Tiger – a valuable tool that helps to identify the cost of lost productivity to their business as a result of working carers taking time off or even simply from employee distraction and worry.
