What do you get?

Employees

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that turn into a big problem, and unresolved personal or work issues can have a major impact on wellbeing. Unum's EAP is designed to help employees cope with simple questions to complex issues, by giving them information and confidential practical support on a range of everyday issues including work, family, relationships, money and health.

For example, Unum LifeWorks provides a fully-researched referral service that can suggest up to 3 possible providers of childcare or elder care based on an employee’s specific requirements.

Total Wellbeing Index (TWI) – offering individuals personal mental, physical, financial and social assessments followed with tools and resources to support them with any areas that they need to focus on.

The CareNow programme – offering eight interactive digital modules to support employees with everything from anxiety through to relationships or communication. The modules are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles and gives employees control to access instant support -anytime, anywhere.

Employers

The new Total Wellbeing Index (TWI), is designed to help organisations gain information on how they can better support employees to build resiliency and stay connected to their work. TWI offers valuable organisational reports, providing insights into the strengths and risks of an organisation’s people. As well as providing employees with solutions on an individual level, the anonymised feedback can therefore help employers to develop their workforce support in a more targeted and effective way.

Employers who have an Income Protection scheme with Unum also benefit from additional employer services. Here's how they can help: If you need help with the complexities of employment law, health and safety, and other legislative obligations, but don’t want the large legal bill that sometimes goes with it, LifeWorks can provide help at no additional cost.

  • Advice on a range of issues including employment law, commercial law, HR, health and safety, intellectual property and tax
  • A clear explanation of the law relating to your issues and the options available to you

  • Easy to use system asks you questions and generates documents – prepared by an experienced lawyer - based on your answers

The service also includes confidential support for managers on all aspects of their management role, and an informal and formal referrals service where managers can ask qualified consultants or counsellors to contact employees to help them with their issues or address any performance-related problems.
