Quite simply, corporate social responsibility (CSR) means a lot to us. A strong commitment to CSR is one of our core values. We focus on providing a positive and effective contribution to the communities in which we live and work.
We see helping our communities as a natural extension of the commitment we make each and every day to our customers — to help employers manage their businesses and employees protect their families and livelihoods.

The decision over what charities we support every two years is completely employee-led. The only pre-requisite is that the nominations must support one of the three key pillars: education, health and wellbeing, or arts and culture.

Unum's vision is to positively contribute and make a difference to the communities in which we work and operate in across the UK through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. We partner with charities and voluntary organisations to make our communities stronger, thriving places to live and work.
One way in which we strive to do this is through our corporate giving programme – The Unum Community Fund.
The Unum Community Fund awards grants of up to £5,000 for community partnership projects aligned to at least one of our Pillars of Giving, which help to achieve the following aims:
