Open Door is the name of Unum’s Vocational Assessment Centres.
Open Door assessments are a comprehensive evaluation for people who have been unable to work due to injury or illness. Professional independent consultants look at physical, psychological, workplace and vocational factors to assess an individual’s ability to perform the main duties of their occupation. They also assess each individual’s potential for rehabilitation.
Open Door reports provide the objective evidence and recommendations to assist the work of both our Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants and our Claims Management Specialists, in helping employers and employees develop a plan for returning to work.
Further information can be found in our Rehabilitation Literature section.
