Leading income protection provider, UnumProvident, has launched its first e-zine, an electronic newsletter aimed at IFAs with an interest in protection products.
Readership figures for the insurer's first e-zine were even better than expected with 169% opened. Figures in excess of 100% are unusual, suggesting many recipients looked at the publication several times. Many IFAs visiting the website requested quotatations or product information as well as entering the prize draw to win a digital camera.

The winner of the digital camera was David Odunukwe of Trinity Financial Advisers Ltd. in Halifax who was presented with his prize by Sales Consultant Phil Johnson from UnumProvident's North East Regional Office in Leeds.
This first issue focussed on Elixia 123, UnumProvident's revolutionary critical illness product which cuts the price of premiums by enabling policyholders to select from a range of options the precise coverage they require.
Eugene McCormack, Director of Marketing for UnumProvident, said:
The e-zine was such a big success due to the content being highly targeted and valued by the IFAs we sent it to. The specialisation of the information can be even more finely targeted in future issues based on a tracking technique which evaluates key areas of interest to the individual reader.
